Celebrate Game of Thrones season 6 with a behind-the-scenes exhibition that brings the epic series to life.

The painfully epic Game of Thrones season 6 has recently been released on DVD and Blu-ray, and HBO is helping fans join the story with a new traveling exhibition.

Game of Thrones: Behind the Scenes begins today at Astor Place in New York City, and fans can get up close and personal (really personal) with the lands of Westeros and beyond. Five stations, representing the multiple story points explored in season 6, offer an intimate look at the intricately crafted props, costumes, and set designs of the HBO fantasy series.

Each station also includes interactive experiences, in addition to sneak peeks at featurettes from the Game of Thrones season 6 home release. Of course, many of these elements are on the violent-and-murderous side — but that’s all part of the fun.

At Castle Black, fans can fight against an invasion at the Wall in an intricately realized Virtual Reality experience. (Bow and arrow experience is not required, but it may come in handy.) At Winterfell, your game face will come in handy as your head replaces Jon Snow’s battle-bruised mug after exploring crucial props from the Battle of the Bastards.

North of the Wall, fans can pose with a Weirwood tree, explore the weapons of the Others, and — of course — “hold the door.” The Workshop provide crowns, dragons, shields, and weapons for crafting the perfect profile picture.

And in Vaes Dothrak, fans can check script excerpts and take Daenerys’ place as she burns the crap out of the horselords. It’s a lot of fun.

Next Saturday and Sunday, Game of Thrones: Behind the Scenes moves to Chicago’s Petrillo Music Shell. On Dec. 9 and 10, fans in Los Angeles can catch the spirit of Westeros at Hollywood and Highland. Learn more information and sign up for early access at GOTBehindTheScenes.com.
