Black Panther’s unnamed security guard Florence Kasumba blew us away in Civil War, and now she’ll do the same in Wonder Woman.

Florence Kasumba’s character in Captain America: Civil War was one of the most memorable new characters, despite her only having one line of dialogue. And now, she’s jumping franchises to DC’s Wonder Woman to steal the spotlight once again.

As reported by The Mary Sue, Kasumba will play Senator Acantha, one of Wonder Woman’s fellow Amazonians. She’s a relatively obscure character in the comics, and obviously this casting is coming rather late in the game, but like TMS, we’re hoping that WB and Patty Jenkins will beef up Kasumba’s role in the movie.

Not only because Florence Kasumba is our new favorite person, but also because — while by all accounts a strong feminist movie — Wonder Woman‘s diversity isn’t exactly stellar. Responding to the concerns about the overwhelming whiteness of the cast, Patty Jenkins tweeted the following:

We’ll have to find out whether Kasumba’s role will be significant or not — as we’re also still waiting to hear if she’ll be back for Marvel’s Black Panther, which Marvel has promised will have a 90% African/African-American cast. This includes women, obviously, which is well overdue for Marvel — Kasumba’s unnamed character was one of only a very few women of color with a (relatively) significant speaking role in the MCU.

Considering that the character made such an impression, despite only having one line (and being involved in one of the film’s only sequences featuring two women speaking to each other), we think Marvel would have to bring her back — but now that she’s in the DC Universe too, who knows?
