The Flash movie is still in production hell, as someone new has been brought in to once again rewrite the movie’s script.

The last we heard about The Flash film was that Director Rick Famuyiwa had departed the project. The Dope director took over the project in June, after screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, who also cited creative differences, decided to step down.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter discloses that the studio is “re-envisioning the entire movie” following Famuyiwa’s departure.

Joby Harold (King Arthur) is the one now tasked with re-imagining The Flash’s storyline as Warner Bros. continues to search for a new director. Famuyiwa was the last one to touch the script, with Grahame-Smith having previously worked off a treatment by Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Considering those previously involved with the film cited creative differences, it’s interesting that the studio is now reworking the script. Are they finally taking into consideration the criticism that the former directors had in regards to the plot?

Some fans will obviously be worried about the direction of the movie after hearing about all the shake-ups, but perhaps this could be a good thing for the film. If the studio is working this hard to get the movie right, they must have faith they’ll be able to put forth a good product that audiences will enjoy once they do finally nail the script.

Ezra Miller made his debut as Barry Allen/The Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and also appeared in this summer’s Suicide Squad. We’ll next see him in Justice League – Part 1, which premieres on November 17, 2017.
