The first Game of Thrones season 7 trailer has been released, and seven hells, it’s cold in here!

The new trailer is dubbed “Long Walk,” and begins to position the main points of conflict in Game of Thrones season 7. Set to the song “Sit Down” by James, the trailer shows Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister each stalking purposefully toward their seats of power.

And they look damned good doing it.

In the Game of Thrones season 7 trailer, Jon Snow walks through the warrens of Winterfell to the seat in the Great Hall. It’s no great throne for the new King in the North, but its simple function is appropriately Stark-ish.

In the most informative section of the trailer, it is clear that Daenerys has clearly landed at the island castle of Dragonstone. Clad in the Targaryen colors of black and red, she sits on the Targaryen’s ancestral seat, matching the darkness around her.

In Kings Landing, Cersei (accompanied by the sung words “touched by madness”) paces through the familiar halls of the Red Keep. Finally seated on the Iron Throne, Cersei lets out a breath that quickly turns to frost in the newly-wintery air.

And as the winds howl, the fourth angle of conflict in Game of Thrones season 7 is revealed. The camera peers through the crystalline blue eye of a White Walker, the ultimate antagonist, who clearly sees more than is good for Westeros.

Yes, smallfolk: Winter has come to Game of Thrones. And it’s very happy to be here.

Game of Thrones season 7 premieres on July 16 on HBO.
