As COVID-19 continues to spread worldwide, Square Enix ensures that one way or another, Cloud Strife’s adventures in the Final Fantasy VII Remake will indeed release on time digitally.

In the statement confirming that the April 10, 2020 release date for the Final Fantasy VII Remake will still hit, Square Enix admits that “it is increasingly likely that some of you will not get hold of your copy of the game on the release date.”

“We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis,” reads the statement, “and working with our partners, retailers, and SQUARE ENIX teams across Europe and the Americas, to do everything we can to ensure as many of you as possible can play the game on April 10.”

This news comes as a relief for fans, as the often-delayed FFVII Remake felt like it was never going to actually see a release.

Thankfully, the game is finally out of development hell, and will at least be accessible digitally on April 10.

Unfortunately, fans who paid for one of the larger pre-order bundles may be left without their special edition copies of the game, as some fans have pointed out.

Recently, a VR menu was datamined from the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo’s code, suggesting that the coming Square Enix title will have some sort of VR capabilities. The demo is now available to play worldwide, and my god is it beautiful.
