Did you hear the good news? Comedy Central is tapping BriTANicK for their own half hour scripted pilot!

We’ve been following the genius BriTANicK duo for quite a while now and we can’t wait to see them on our television screens every week. After creating so many hilarious YouTube videos and having small parts in films like Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing, we’re delighted to see a media giant like Comedy Central taking notice of Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney’s immense talent.

To celebrate their potential jump to the small screen, here’s our list of our favorite BriTANicK videos that we’ve enjoyed for years on our computer screens!

Note: If you’re like us and you haven’t seen some of BriTANicK’s videos since they first came out or since the first time you watched them, we definitely recommend going back and seeing how many familiar faces (besides Brian and Nick’s) that you can spot in their videos!

We’ll give you a hint: There are a few current SNL cast members, a Veronica Mars alum, and a fan-favorite Community actor among others!

‘Pillow Talk’

It may not be the most inventive or witty video in their portfolio, but it gets us every time. We love how “Pillow Talk” is full of surprises, including the ever-charming Chris Lowell (and no, he’s not the only reason why we love this video). Yes, it’s one of BriTANicK’s oldest videos, but we love that about this one because it’s a great measure of how far the comedy duo has come and how little their sense of humor has changed. Plus, it’s a great example of their “Let’s take a normal concept and make it absolutely ridiculous” approach to videos (which happens to be our all-time favorite type of BriTANicK videos).

But seriously. Chris Lowell’s haircut is worse in this video than it was when he played Piz!

‘The Coach’

Two words: Joss. Whedon. Yes, this video would’ve been funny with a no-name actor or Chris Lowell playing the part of the Coach. But it’s Joss Whedon. Joss Whedon being hit with a broom. Joss Whedon being stuffed down Nick Kocher’s shirt. Joss Whedon dressed as a bird with toilet paper feathers. How amazing is that? Yes, the concept is a bit simplistic and slightly crude, but the execution is hilarious (and we’re not usually ones for toilet humor).

‘Academy Award Winning Movie Trailer’

There’s a good reason why this video went viral and was nominated at the 2011 Comedy Awards for “Viral Video of the Year.” “Academy Award Winning Movie Trailer” hits on all of the overused cliches in serious movie trailers, including “catchphrase,” “friendly concern that a string of heightened and seemingly unrelated plots may now arise,” and, of course, “explicitly stating the moral of the story and awkwardly working in the movie title.” This video perfectly deconstructs big-budget Hollywood films and exposes the predictability of trailers, as well as our trained expectations. Yet, it’s still hilarious. If we had been voting 2011 Comedy Awards, we would’ve given BriTANicK all of the awards.

‘Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses: The Movie’

It’s like a sci-fi thriller meets a by-the-book action movie meets Home Alone meets a typical rom-com meets BriTANicK. And even that’s not a great description of what this video is. We couldn’t believe our eyes the first time we saw it and we haven’t been able to forget it. Believe it or not (we’re not sure yet if we do), but this was actually Brian’s NYU Thesis Film and he almost got kicked out of class because of it. For a (very) low budget film, it’s incredibly well-written and really demonstrates BriTANicK’s technical film talents, along with their acting abilities. Mainly though, we love it because it’s a story that’s about eagles turning people into horses and bad relationships, both which get turned on their heads.

‘A Monologue for Thee’

“A Monologue for Thee” is the video that introduced many of us to the genius that is BriTANicK. It’s so incredibly clever and fast-paced that we can’t believe how flawlessly the duo executes it. The way the dialogue moves from classic literature to movie quotes to a strangely intimate suicide note and back, all while making us giggle uncontrollably, is really impressive. This is definitely one of BriTANicK’s smartest videos to date. While we love this video’s sequel, “A Monologue for Three” (which features Community‘s Danny Pudi), the original is definitely the best and we hope to see something like it on their new show!

Honorable mentions for best BriTANicK video: “A Monologue for Three,” “Jesus Toast,” “Sexy Pool Party” (which features Nathan Fillion!), “The Dinner Party”… Can’t we just say that all of their videos are our favorites? It’s too hard to choose!

BriTANicK’s self-titled Comedy Central pilot will star the duo as best friends in an overly exaggerated version of their own real lives, which means that there will be adventures and hijinks galore! After all, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “In the pilot, Nick fakes his own death to get out of a relationship as Brian tries to buy his way back into one,” which sounds hilarious to us.

Now all that’s left is for Comedy Central to like the pilot (which we’re confident they will) and give the duo a series order. You can read more about their promising big break over at The Hollywood Reporter.
