We’ve shared a lot of speculation and official news over the past week pertaining to The Fault in Our Stars movie. Things have gotten a little crazy, so we want to offer up a simple list of who we think is in the running.

There are numerous people currently being considered for both Hazel and Gus.

We believe the following people are in consideration or were once looked at to play Hazel:
– Shailene Woodley (confirmed) (The Descendants, Divergent, The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
– Hailee Steinfeld (confirmed) (True Grit, Ender’s Game)
– Mae Whitman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower)
– AnnaSophia Robb (Race to Witch Mountain, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
– Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games)

As for Gus, while we do think multiple people are in the ring, the only person we have reason to believe is in contention is Cameron Monaghan (Showtime’s Shameless). We did release a feature where we suggested some actors who we thought could take on the role.

Some of our speculation comes from activity on Twitter. In recent days we’ve reached out to people connected with all of these stars, and with the exception of Woodley, none of them have offered up an on the record answer.

Fun side note: As she’s been doing since we put her on our Hazel casting wish list in November, Mae Whitman is still voicing her interest in taking the role…

Yesterday Josh Boone was confirmed as director.
