The upcoming Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has found its fifth star in Faith Wood-Blagrove.

The 10-year-old will play Modesty, who is described as a “haunted” character with an “inner strength and stillness.” Perhaps thanks to a little magic, the character “has an ability to see deep into people and understand them.”

The role is special because Fantastic Beasts producers held an open casting call in July to find a girl who could take on the part. Reports indicate over 10,000 young hopefuls turned out to audition for the role.

Last month Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling shared that she was excited to find Modesty, signaling that the character may be significant to Fantastic Beasts:

Wood-Blagrove hasn’t appeared in a film before, so Modesty could potentially present a huge break for the young girl if she’s looking to become an actress.

The audition process for this Fantastic Beasts role reminds us of Harry Potter co-star Evanna Lynch’s story. The actress attended an open casting call after hearing about it on MuggleNet. She went on to play Luna Lovegood in the final four Potter movies.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters next November and stars Eddie Redmayne (Newt), Katherine Waterston (Tina), Dan Fogler (Jacob), and Alison Sudol (Queenie). Four-time Potter director David Yates is back to helm the new movie. Filming is expected to start very soon — in fact, it may’ve already started!
