Fans of Degrassi: The Next Generation got the surprise of a lifetime when Drake unveiled his “I’m Upset” music video to the world late Wednesday night.

The music video for the latest single off of Drake’s upcoming Scorpion album is chock-full of references and cameos to the beloved teen television drama that reigned supreme in the mid 2000s.

The “Hotline Bling” artist’s music video theme centered on a 10 year high school reunion taking place at Degrassi Community School, and it’s safe to say the reunion Drake was able to pull off when it comes to his former co-stars was pretty epic.

From Terri (Christina Schmidt) and Rick (Ephriam Ellis) to Spinner (Shane Kippel) Hazel (Andrea Lewis), and Ashley (Melissa Mcintyre), it seems as though the entire Degrassi crew showed up for Drake’s epic music video.

Even so, it didn’t take long for die-hard Degrassi fans to realize that there was one pretty big face missing amongst the bunch.

We’re talking of course about J.T Yorke (played on the series by Ryan Cooley)— Degrassi’s resident class clown who starred on the teen soap for six seasons before his character was killed off.

So what’s the story behind J.T.’s absence?

Thanks to one fan who left a comment on Drake’s Instagram, we’ve now got our answer!

“I’m upset…because you didn’t bring back JT,” commented one fan on the rapper’s post.

“He thought it was a scam,” replied Drake.

We’re sure wherever Cooley is, he’s probably regretting not showing up for the reunion!
