An anime series adaptation of DOTA 2 is coming soon to Netflix.
On Tuesday (February 16), Netflix’s announced that it will be releasing an all new anime series based on the hit DOTA 2 video game franchise created by Valve in 2011.
Hailing from Studio MIR (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender), DOTA: Dragon’s Blood centers on Davion— a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.
All eight episodes of the anime series adaptation are set to debut globally at the end of March on Netflix— but fans who just can’t wait to get a taste, can check out a brand new teaser trailer for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood below!

Behind the camera, X-Men: First Class vet Ashley Edward Miller is set to serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series. In addition, Ryu Ki Hyun will serve as a co-executive producer on the project.
In a statement announcing the upcoming release date of the series, Miller touched on what fans can expect from the adaptation.
“Fans will love how we’ve imagined the DOTA 2 universe and woven together an epic, emotional, and adult-oriented story about some of their favorite characters,” said the showrunner. “The cinematic animation, acting and music are simply next level and I’m grateful to Valve for supporting our creative ambitions.”
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood debuts via Netflix globally on March 25.
