The first trailer for Disney and Pixar ’s Turning Red is here, and it’s larger than life.

Fans of Disney and Pixar’s films won’t want to miss the trailer for the studio’s newest animated feature.

Titled Turning Red, the all new film centers on 13-year-old Mei Lee who, like many teenagers, has a tendency to get too overwhelmed or too excited at the drop of a hat.

As the first teaser trailer for the film shows, however, extreme emotions come with extreme consequences for Mei Lee— especially given that whenever she gets too excited (which is practically always), she poofs into a giant red panda.

On the casting front, newcomer Rosalie Chiang lends her voice to the character of Mei Lee. Also set to star in the animated feature film is Sandra Oh, who voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter.

Behind the camera, Turning Red hails from Domee Shi, who won an Oscar for her 2018 short, Bao. Shi serves as director on the forthcoming film, which is produced by Lindsey Collins.

Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red hits theaters next year on March 11, 2022.
