Yvonne Strahovski, who plays Dexter’s love interest from season 7, has spoken about her role regarding the eighth and final season.

Dexter season 8 is just around the corner, and we’ve now seen some news regarding one of the characters we’re most anticipating to return to the final season: Hannah McKay.

McKay has been absent from all of the teasers and trailers we’ve seen over the past few weeks, but Yvonne Strahovski has been speaking to Yahoo TV regarding her involvement as McKay for Dexter season 8.

Strahovski can’t even tell fans when she will be first seen in the eighth season, as she says, “Unfortunately, those are things I can’t share, because the big question is for Hannah, because she got away … what has she been doing all this time?”

The actress continues, “Is she going to pop back into Dexter’s life, and if so, how’s she going to do that exactly? What will be her intentions at the time? So that’s really the exciting part of that.”

We already know that McKay will be back to “shake things up,” so we’re hoping her return to the series will be an unpredictable twist, something to surprise fans.

Even Strahovski’s involvement in season 8 was somewhat of a surprise to her, but she is really happy that she’ll reprise her role as McKay in the upcoming season. However, she is adamant that she doesn’t know her character’s fate.

“I kind of chose not to ask what was going to happen with [Hannah]. I personally don’t know what the character’s fate will be. I think I’m almost too scared to ask…part of me doesn’t want to spoil the surprise!”

The former Chuck star put in a fantastic performance during Dexter season 7, and we’re glad to see she’s as excited as we are for her return.
