The Deadpool 2 trailer confirmed Wade is building his X-Force team. But who’s gonna make the cut? Here’s what we know so far.

As DP says in the trailer, X-Force is made up of tough and morally flexible members who are young enough to carry their own franchise for 10 to 12 years. In the comics, Cable was the leader of the X-Force, but it seems like Deadpool 2 is putting the team together to stop Cable from hunting down the mutant kid in the trailer.

Don’t worry, I’m sure Cable will come around, and even though they’re not going to make a Deadpool 3 because Deadpool 2 is going to be so awesome, we’ll probably get a glimpse of a final showdown with these two badasses fighting side by side.

There are a few familiar faces on X-Force, but plenty of new ones, too. So, without further ado…

Meet the members of the X-Force

Colossus

All right, I’m starting off with the one member who might not actually be on X-Force. Colossus shows up in the trailer, but aside from getting a nice butt squeeze from Mr. Pool, he doesn’t do much. Colossus isn’t exactly one of those “morally flexible” mutants Wade was talking about, but it’s likely he’ll find some way to help out the team.

In the comics, Cable was only part of the X-Force roster in one iteration, so while it’s unlikely he’ll be a huge part of the action here, there’s still a small chance we’ll see him in action once again.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Meanwhile, Colossus’ buddy Negasonic Teenage Warhead is featured pretty heavily in the trailer, though she isn’t seen on the plane with the others. It’s likely Negasonic will be around to help Deadpool, as she’s not quite as straight-laced as her giant metal friend. She is #TeamXMen, however, so don’t be too surprised if she draws a line in the sand at some point.

In the comics, Negasonic has not been a part of the X-Force team in the past.

Yoiki

We got confirmation that the purple-haired, chain-wielding, electric girl in the trailer is named Yoiki. Even better? She’s Negasonic’s girlfriend! There are rumors she’s possibly playing Surge, who — you guessed it — has electrical abilities. Basically, she’s constantly absorbing all manner of electricity around her and can discharge it at will. She’s also got superhuman speed. She’s never been a part of X-Force, but she’s crossed paths with them in the comics.

Domino

Domino has been a member of X-Force since the very first time they got together — kind of. It was actually Copy Cat portraying Domino, but the real Domino later joined the team during the comic’s first volume and has since been a staple on the roster. We don’t know if the Copy Cat angle will come into play (especially since there’s still a chance Vanessa could become Copy Cat), but Domino will be a fun character to have around, regardless. Her power is, at its very basic level, having good luck and the ability to get out of tough situations. She’s also an expert marksman with a variety of weapons.

Bedlam

Aside from being a complete badass in his own right (think lots of martial arts training), Bedlam’s abilities is to interrupt electrical and mechanical systems, which would also include the human brain. He can cause pain and confusion or just make you go to sleep. His name is, as they usually are, right on the mark. Bedlam had a short turn in the X-Force, but he did appear in the first volume of the comic.

Shatterstar

As most mutants do, Shatterstar has enhanced strength, speed, and agility, and has been trained in various forms of martial arts. He’s also incredibly intelligent, with an enhanced ability to learn, as well as the power to create shock waves. He’s also been known to open portals. We don’t get much of a look at him in the trailer (he’s the one in white in the back), and we still don’t have a confirmation as to who’s playing him, but he’s definitely on that plane with the rest of them.

Zeitgeist?

This next member of X-Force is a bit tricky to nail down. There are a lot of options as to who Bill Skarsgård could be playing. Rictor (generates/manipulates seismic energy) would make sense given he and Shatterstar become romantically involved in the comics, but just as many fans are wondering if he’s possibly Zeitgeist (spews acidic vomit), especially since it does look like he’s wearing a protective mouth covering in the trailer. Rictor was featured in quite a few issues in the first volume of X-Force, while Zeitgeist was only in one. (Note: This wouldn’t be the first time Deadpool has changed a mutant’s abilities for the movie — they did it for Neagsonic, too.)

Peter Wisdom

We only get a snapshot of a man named Peter as Deadpool is trying to decide who to make a part of his team, but it’s likely that this is Peter Wisdom, who is not only a secret agent, but can also absorb heat and solar radiation and release it back out through his fingertips. (Hey, doesn’t that sound kind of like the kid Cable is going after?) He’s also worked with X-Force in the comics.

P.S. If you want to learn more about Cable, just click here — and come to accept that Stephen Lang will never be Cable, just like I did.
