It may have taken all 13 episodes, but we finally found Stan Lee’s Daredevil cameo. That’s right, we took one for the team and watched the entire series without a break. You can thank us later.

This article is spoiler free. You could absolutely blink and miss it, but it was there. In Daredevil episode 13, we finally got Stan Lee’s cameo, although it was more subtle than what we have come to expect from him.

We spotted Lee in portrait form at the police precinct about halfway through the Daredevil series finale. We wouldn’t be surprised if you missed it, as it took place during a fairly tense scene (which we won’t spoil for you). See him below, in the framed portrait behind the officer at the desk:

Lee’s Daredevil cameo had the most in common with his most recent appearance in Big Hero 6. In the animated film, Lee also appeared as a portrait, and then also turned up in an extended after credits scene.

More recently, Marvel has branched out into television series, and Lee has been along for the ride. He appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 13 “T.R.A.C.K.S.,” and in Agent Carter episode 4 “The Blitzkrieg Button.” Lee is also set to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And just for fun: Lee even turned up in the terrible 2003 Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck. In it, a young Matt Murdock saved Lee’s life when he stopped him from crossing the street and getting hit by a bus. Nice one, Matthew. You can watch Stan Lee’s Oscar-worthy performance here:
