Constantine has been cancelled by NBC, but Hellblazer fans may still get a season 2.

It’s always a shame when a show gets cancelled after just one season, but perhaps especially in the case of Constantine, starring Matt Ryan.

According to TVLine, NBC has axed the show in its freshman run, having already cut the season order down to 13 episodes. Hovering at around 3 million viewers in its finale and never reaching more than a little over 4 million in its prime, we can’t say we’re surprised the network decided to let it go.

However, Hellblazers, as fans of the show are affectionately called, may still get their Constantine fix — just not on NBC.

According to showrunner Daniel Cerone, hope is still alive for the show, which has a small but passionate fan base thanks to advocates of the comic series and those who felt the show was a great comic book adaptation.

Networks like The CW have a strong comic book adaptation demographic, so perhaps the team behind Constantine can move the show over there. Other options may still include Syfy, or even Hulu or Netflix, as the latter has a knack for developing original content that makes a splash with its viewers.

The #SaveConstantine campaign is still in full effect, so follow Cerone’s advice and continue to watch and share the thrilling world John Constantine occupies. You’ll thank yourself later.

As fans of the show, we’ll be sure to keep you updated if we hear about Constantine’s fate, one way or another.
