Cats fans itching to get a taste of what the film will look like when it hits theaters later this year finally have their chance thanks to a brand new behind the scenes feature.

Released on Wednesday (July 17), the brand new behind-the-scenes first look at the movie musical showcases just how much work has already been put into the production in an effort to bring the timeless musical to life.

On hand to share just what the experience has been like are some of the film’s biggest stars, which include the likes of recording artists Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, and Jason Derulo, along with actors like Judi Dench, Idris Elba, and Rebel Wilson.

The lengthy first look kicks off with the stars sharing their history with the performance arts over a montage of the movie’s cast rehearsing for the film.

Though everyone involved with the film shares a love for the performing arts, the other thing they’ve got in common is their deep love and respect for Cats the musical.

“When I first heard I was going to be in Cats, instantly I felt the pressure,” confessed Jennifer Hudson.

“I just remember loving it, so when Cats became a movie, obviously I jumped at the chance,” added Rebel Wilson.

Meanwhile Taylor Swift noted that they’ve tweaked a few things from the musical in order to get the story silver screen ready.

“We got to update it in ways that I think are so, so great,” teased Swift.

As cool as it is to hear from the actors and performers that are partaking in bringing the musical to life, there’s no doubt that the most impressive part of the behind-the-scenes first look is the rehearsal footage, which features dancers and performers of all backgrounds coming together.

“When you see people that are at the top of their game doing it, it raises your bar as well,” said fellow cast member Idris Elba.

And of course, the other thing the brand new feature gives viewers a taste of is the stunning, larger than life set that was built to bring the world of Cats to life.

Judi Dench probably said it best when she likened the sets to an “Alice In Wonderland experience.”
