Marvel formally announced the start of filming on Captain America: Civil War Thursday afternoon and confirmed the film’s huge cast.

Notably, several super heroes are back after having big roles in The Avengers: Age of Ultron: Captain America (obviously), Iron Man, Black Widow, The Vision, Hawkeye, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch are returning for Civil War. In addition, Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Falcon, Agent 13, Crossbones, and General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (played by William Hurt, first seen in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton) are back as well.

As if that weren’t enough, Marvel says that Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) will appear in Civil War after making his debut in the Ant-Man standalone film this July.

Marvel did not mention Spider-Man’s role, but it’s been heavily rumored that the new Spidey will be appearing in Civil War too. The studio is rumored to be currently considering Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland, two teenagers, for their version of the webbed crusader. With filming on Captain America now underway, an announcement is expected very soon.

As was previously announced, Blank Panther (Chadwick Boseman) will be making his debut in Civil War. And on Tuesday we learned Martin Freeman has joined the Captain America threequel in an unspecified role.

“Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity,” reads Marvel’s synopsis. “After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”

The plot of the third Captain America was first announced last fall when Marvel’s Kevin Feige brought Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. on stage at a Phase 3 event. The two characters will be battling it out over the purpose of super heroes, as was hinted in Age of Ultron, in Civil War:

RDJ and Chris Evans take the stage! Cap 3 is titled CIVIL WAR.
