Breaking Bad season 6, episode 3/season 5, episode 11 was another exciting step towards the grand finale. Check out our detailed recap to relive the events.

The episode kicked off with Todd calling Walt to tell him about the take down that took place in last week’s episode. Moments later, Todd is retelling the train heist story to two accomplices in a cafe.

Next, we cut to where last week’s episode ended: Hank enters Jesse’s holding room and turns off the camera. As expected, Hank tells Jesse that he knows everything and suggests that there may be trouble in paradise – that leads the kid to talk.

Hank connects with Jesse over their shared problem with Walt: The lies. There’s not much more time to talk, however, because Saul comes in and talks to Jesse alone.

Over at the White house, Walt Jr. is home and wants to see his father. While cover up his bruises, his son says he was asked by Marie to come over to fix a computer problem and stay for dinner. This gets Walt running out of the bathroom to talk to his son and tells him that his cancer has returned. He tells Jr. that he’s back on chemo, thus his lack of energy lately. Walt asks him to stay positive and invites him to head over to Aunt Marie’s, but Jr. refuses to now that he has this new information about his father.

Over at their in-law’s home, Hank tells Marie that he hasn’t told his co-workers about Walt yet.

Back at the White house, Walt steps in front of a camera and confesses everything. Skyler asks him if it’s the right idea, and he says it’s the only way.

We then cut to a festive Mexican restaurant, where Walt and Skyler are meeting — Hank and Marie (!) for dinner. Walt is about to start talking, when the waiter shows up to take drink orders. Once he leaves, a conversation between the four of them ensues. Walt and Skyler ask that they keep the kids out of this. Marie suggests Walt kill himself. At the end of the dinner, Walt hands over the tape that he and Skyler recorded.

Watching it at home, Hank and Marie watch the tape – in a nutshell, Walt says that Hank was the kingpin and Walt was just his cook. Walt uses pieces of their history – things like Hank’s leg injury, bruises on Walt’s face, etc to put all of the blame on him.

Hank has one burning question: What money to pay for medical bills did Walt refer to in his video? Marie confesses: She accepted their money to pay for better care for Hank’s treatment. Hank finds this to be the nail in the coffin – that they accepted drug money to pay for his recovery.

Out in the desert, Saul and Jesse greet Walt. Jesse says that Hank has been keeping his lead away from the rest of the DEA. Then Walt talks to Jesse about starting a new life – hitting the reset button. Jesse doesn’t buy it and calls Walt out. He says that the reason Walt’s asking this is because he needs a favor – it’s all for him so that Jesse is out of the way. If Jesse says no, Walt will just kill him. Jesse starts crying, and this leads Walt to embrace him in silence.

Things are tense between Hank and his DEA co-worker Steven, as the latter knows that Hank is keeping a secret from him.

At Saul’s office, he and Jesse are getting ready to start off the new life Walt suggested. Jesse’s visibly nervous. He asks Saul if he can pick to go any place he wants, and he says he wants to go to Alaska.

He heads off to the pick up location. While there and waiting for his car, Jesse pulls the pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and makes the connection: Saul stole the ricin. Walt had told Jesse that Fring stole it to poison Brock. Jesse realized that once again Walt was lying.

Ignited, Jesse comes running back to Saul and gets him to clarify everything. This sends Jesse flying out of the office, and Saul calls Walt to warn him.

Walt flies over to the car wash to grab a gun hiding in the vending machine. We cut to Walt’s house, where Jesse breaks in and starts dousing it in gasoline to light it on fire.

Fin.

Next week’s episode should be another epic show. When we saw the White family home in ruins at the start of the season, was it from what Jesse did tonight? Is Jesse the one who wrote “HEISENBERG” in the living room with graffiti?
