April Fools!

Along with Marvel’s recent slew of casting announcements (including today’s announcement that Clint Eastwood will play Spider-Man in Civil War) comes news that global superstar Beyoncé will join the series climax, Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, as Beyoncé, a character known in the comics as Queen Bee.

She also announced that she was born with a number of superhuman abilities, none of which she is at freedom to expose thanks to an ironclad Disney/Marvel contract.

“I’m so proud to join this incredible connective universe,” announced Beyoncé on Twitter late last night, “but people please stop tweeting me asking about my powers. I really can’t say anything.”

According to Marvel President Kevin Feige, Beyoncé’s role has been integral to the ending of the Avengers series ever since day one.

“Ever since Nick Fury walked out of the shadows at the end of the first Iron Man, we’ve had a plan, and that plan, to a gigantic extent, has revolved around Beyoncé being introduced in Avengers: Infinity War Part 2,” said Feige.

“In fact, if you look closely, you’ll notice a number of references throughout the series that point toward the appearance of the Beyoncé character later down the line, a character known in the comics as Queen Bee,” hinted Feige.

Conspiracy theorists among her fans have always assumed there was something extraordinary about her performing abilities, but this still comes as a major shock.

“I’ve never seen a single Marvel movie,” said Daniel Munchkin, a devoted Beyoncé follower. “But…you know…I’ll at least see that last one if Beyoncé is in it. If anything just to find out the source of her power.”

Indeed, the source of Beyoncé’s power, which some say was gained through years of hard work and sacrifice, has been a source of speculation for years.

“People will have to see the movie to find out,” said Feige with a smile.

No doubt, if the film follows the comic adaptation of the events of Marvel’s Infinity War, Queen Bee (or Beyoncé, her human name) will notice the destruction of Earth and the defeat of the Avengers from her planet of Flah Liss and come to rescue everyone via dance-off with Thanos.

According to creator Stan Lee, Queen Bee was created as a testament to the actual template for all of his heroes, Beyoncé herself.

“Iron Man, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Widow, The Fantastic Four, they’re all her,” said Lee in our exclusive interview with him. “Ice Man, Peggy Carter, Sharon Carter…everyone. Except for Batroc the Leper. He was based on a true story.”

When asked how he was able to base all of these characters, some of which are over 50 years old, on the 33-year-old icon, Lee looked at us with a puzzled expression.

“Well that’s because she’s actually immortal,” said Lee. “Oh jeez, was I supposed to say that? Please don’t print that.”
