Sure, Deadpool is amazing on his own. But when he’s paired up with other colorful Marvel characters? That’s when the real magic happens.

It’s hard not to love Deadpool’s sass and crazy personality. And his breaking of the fourth wall? SO entertaining. But Deadpool really shines when he has other characters to bounce his zingers and crazy antics off of.

The Deadpool movie proves that. After all, some of the best scenes are ones when Deadpool is surrounded by allies. Their normalcy and straight-man-ness make him seem even more insane. What’s not to love?

Obviously, this wasn’t the first time Deadpool has teamed up with other Marvel characters. In fact, he’s fought alongside quite a few of Marvel’s finest (whether they wanted him to or not). Below are just a few fan favorites. (Who knows, maybe we’ll see some of these team-ups on screen at some point!)

Deadpool, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead

So the team-up in the Deadpool movie was nothing short of awesome, right? It was so fun to see these three throwing down together and doing the stereotypical superhero walk side by side (which was awesome, by the way). Negasonic Teenage Warhead was especially fun to watch because of her sass and sheer power. While we weren’t swayed either way by the team-up before seeing Deadpool, we’re definitely sold now. We hope those two X-Men return in the sequel!

Deadpool and Cable

There are a lot of people who are excited to see Cable in the Deadpool sequel (and we have no doubt that the movie will deliver seeing as how well Deadpool has done so far). These two just have such a classic relationship, with Cable being the straight man to Deadpool’s… Deadpool. They’re a sort of yin and yang duo that just works. Cable’s crazy history and ties to the characters we like to think of as X-Men royalty make this pair’s relationship much more interesting.

Deadpool and Wolverine

Though they’re usually going after each other for one reason or another, these two have been known to team up every once in a while when they have to. And it’s great. Imagine two of the most indestructible and attitude-heavy mutants going after bad guys. How could that not be entertaining, what with Wolverine’s grumpiness and Deadpool’s sass? Plus, Deadpool’s healing ability is derived from Wolverine, so the two share a bond anyway. The best part about all of this is the fact that Deadpool considers Wolverine a friend (sometimes even a best friend) whereas Wolverine… Not so much.

Deadpool, Wolverine, and Captain America

How could you make the previous Deadpool team-up even better? By adding Captain America! Neither Cap nor Wolverine really want to work with Deadpool when they all have to go on a mission, but that’s what makes it so fun. It’s hilarious to watch the two react to Deadpool’s antics. This trio team-up is probably most notable because all three have been subjects of human experimentation and weapons programs. That’s what brings them all together, but it’s fun to see how the experimentation has affected each of them differently.

Deadpool and Spider-Man

Though they’ve only really interacted a handful of times (and just recently got their own sort of superhero team-up series, Spider-Man/Deadpool), this is a fan-favorite partnership. It makes sense. They’re both sassy men who love red spandex. Sure, Spider-Man isn’t too keen on Deadpool, but Deadpool definitely likes the web-slinger. This pairing is so popular that the Spideypool ship is alive, well, and thriving (and Deadpool himself is totally aware of it). Now that the pair co-star in a series together, there are bound to be a lot more quality Spideypool team-up moments.

Deadpool and chimichangas

This is the ultimate Deadpool team-up. Deadpool and chimichangas. Chimichangas and Deadpool. The two are practically synonymous at this point. It’s actually pretty shocking that this team-up didn’t appear at all in the movie.

These are great and all, but will we ever see any of these Deadpool team-ups on the big screen?

Besides the one that was already in Deadpool? The short answer? Uhhhhhhh… Maybe?

Out of all of the team-ups listed, Deadpool/chimichangas is the second most-likely to appear in the (currently unannounced but almost written) Deadpool sequel (behind Deadpool/Cable, which Deadpool pretty much guaranteed in the Deadpool post-credits scene). Sure, the sequel will have a bigger budget than the first movie, but not nearly big enough for Wolverine, Captain America, and Spider-Man. (Plus, there’s the whole Marvel property movie rights red tape…)

But who knows? The Deadpool craze is far from over and he had quite a few fervent fans even before the movie’s test footage leaked. Needless to say, the merc with the mouth isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, which means there’s always a chance to see these team-ups on screen one day!

Which is your favorite Deadpool team-up?
