Ben Affleck’s appearance as in the new Batsuit was a surprise today, because Snyder said he would only be unveiling the Batmobile. In a tweet, Snyder says he took the photo on his Leica M Monochrom camera.

In the first image from Batman Vs Superman released yesterday, Snyder shared a teaser of the newly redesigned Batmobile that Batman will be driving in.

Ben Affleck looks incredibly buff in the suit, which we saw happen with Christian Bale, but he looks extra big in this first image. It appears as though the mask is a bit less detailed than we had imagined and it’s possible there may be some grey colors in the chest area, they just may not be visible due to the image’s lightning.

We’ve zoomed in on Affleck’s Batsuit and adjusted the lightning a bit. Check out the adjusted/zoomed images below to see the details of Batman’s new suit:

After adjusting the contrast and gamma, we can see there appear to be striations or a design of sorts on the chest and arms, with his gauntlets appearing to be some sort of rubber sleeve that go over the suit’s forearms. The Batman emblem is also entirely different from what we’re used to on his chest, as it’s quite larger/wider than previous films.

Batman’s utility belt looks simple in design, we don’t see many Batarangs on it, but they could be obscured by his arm. If this is an unaltered image, Affleck looks massive in the new Batsuit and now we’re extremely excited to see how he looks standing next to Henry Cavill as Superman. This incredibly physically impressive Batman may finally help people believe he has a shot when fighting Superman.

The Batmobile design looks like it has taken some inspiration from the ’80s and ’90s Batman films, along with director Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy’s Tumbler. It has the sliding top that we’ve seen in the ’80s and ’90s films, but the military style bulletproof plating that became vital in Christian Bale’s Batman films.

It’s exciting that we’re finally getting our first looks at Batman Vs Superman. Fans have been very curious on how different the Batsuit and Batmobile would be from Christian Bale’s, which is still fresh in the minds of the majority of Batman fans. We can’t wait to see Batman standing next to Superman, that should be one epic shot from the film.

This new look is definitely a different take on both the suit and the vehicle, but they’ve been able to retain that iconic look that fans have grown to love to see on the big screen.

In recent Batman Vs Superman news, Oscar Award winning actress Holly Hunter recently joined the cast in an unknown role, as well as a fairly unknown actor Ray Fisher who has been cast as Cyborg.

Snyder has continued to surprise fans, as he cast Jesse Eisenberg as the film’s villain Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Director Zack Snyder has jammed his movie with talented actors and new characters, so we’ll be curious to see what ends up being the focus of the film. Let us know what you think of the new Batsuit and Batmobile in the comments below.

Batman Vs Superman’s release date is set for May 6, 2016. Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill will return along with Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
