Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters this Friday, and early reviews suggest it’s great, with many people saying Wonder Woman is amazing. We’re curious if Gal Gadot’s take on Wonder Woman will steal the show from the two brawling superheroes.

Everyone may have forgotten about the controversy surrounding Gal Gadot’s casting as Wonder Woman, due to the bigger controversy surrounding Ben Affleck being cast as Batman, but fans of the character were equally worried about Gadot being cast as DC’s biggest female superhero.

The complaints were somewhat warranted, in that Gal Gadot’s most well-known role was in the Fast & Furious franchise, where she didn’t have a lot of screen time or character development. There was also the complaint that she didn’t look strong enough, due to her thin frame, to be the Amazon warrior.

I personally thought Warner Bros. had found a diamond in the rough with Gadot. She seemed like untapped talent to me when she was cast as Wonder Woman, and the early reviews suggest that she may be the brightest star in Batman v Superman.

Many of the lucky fans who got early access to the movie commented on Wonder Woman’s entrance in the movie, saying it was one time that everyone cheered together. We’ve included a few tweets below:

In an episode of Collider’s hero podcast a few weeks ago, Chris Gore said, “I know someone who has seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the stand-out of the movie is Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman kills it, and they don’t show you anything in the trailer.”

It’s very possible that due to superhero fatigue, everyone is latching onto an actress getting to throw some heroic punches around, which is certainly exciting. Wonder Woman is an amazing comic book character, and a favorite among many fans, so it may be the perfect time to see the Amazon Princess on the big screen.

We may only see Wonder Woman in her superhero garb near the end of the film during the final fight, as the movie is about Batman fighting Superman, but we know from the trailers and TV spots that she plays a pivotal role in the film.

She’s also seen dancing with Bruce Wayne, which reminded me of Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne dancing with Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, but it doesn’t feel like this will be a love story at all for the two incognito superheroes.

Gadot has looked amazing in the trailers, and her supposedly thin frame is nowhere to be found, as she looks strong and sounds even stronger when she fights her way in and out of the tightly edited scenes.

Batman v Superman was always going to be the springboard for her solo movie, but it was being sold as the springboard for all of the DC superheroes, but now it seems like Wonder Woman is really the one who will shine. And so far it looks like she may outshine the two leads, which is exciting to think about.

We’ll be brought back to World War I for Wonder Woman’s solo movie, which also stars Chris Pine, and we couldn’t be more excited to hear that Gal Gadot seems to have nailed the role going into Warner Bros. first big superhero team-up movie.

Batman v Superman hits theaters March 25, with Wonder Woman hitting theaters on June 23, 2017.
