Warner Bros. has released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s final trailer, and thankfully this one doesn’t spoil the larger enemy.
The trailer begins with Alfred (Jeremy Irons) offering Batman (Ben Affleck) some advice to help him issue a surprise attack on a few enemies. Then we get into the purpose of the movie: Batman against Superman (Henry Cavill). Like in earlier trailers, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is obsessed with the power of the two forces going head-to-head “God versus Man, day versus night,” he tells Lois Lane (Amy Adams). “You’re psychotic,” she warns.
The strengths of the two characters are out on display in this trailer, but Superman clearly has the upper hand. When Batman drives toward Superman, one little kick of the batmobile by the latter sends the vehicle off course.
Hopefully those spiked boots we get a glimpse of will help Batman crush Superman’s stupid perfect face?
Wonder Woman also makes a couple of appearances once we reach the end of the trailer. “I don’t think you’ve ever met a woman like me,” Diana Prince tells Bruce Wayne before we see her as Wonder Woman.
You may remember that in the last trailer we saw her teaming up with Batman and Superman to fight someone else. That’s something that doesn’t occur in this one, perhaps because it spoils the fact that Batman and Superman stop fighting one another and turn to a larger enemy?
The marketing in this trailer is interesting. To us, it plays like a trailer for a Fast and Furious movie thanks to those electric guitars towards the end.
We expect to see this playing in front of Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds this weekend.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters March 25. The new movie kicks off a slew of DC films including next year’s Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1.
In related news, IMAX released a new poster for the movie today featuring the two heroes squaring off:
