Warner Bros. have released a new shot of Ben Affleck as Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to celebrate Comic-Con 2014 and the character’s 75th anniversary.

WB is set to bring us many exciting announcements concerning their future movie slate, but more importantly we’ll be getting some great shots and possibly footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Today director Zack Snyder tweeted a close-up of Ben Affleck as Batman. Check out our second official image of Batman from Dawn of Justice below:

It’s exciting that we’re finally getting our first looks at Batman v Superman. Fans have been very curious on how different the Batsuit and Batmobile would be from Christian Bale’s, which is still fresh in the minds of the majority of Batman fans. We can’t wait to see Batman standing next to Superman, that should be one epic shot from the film.

Director Zack Snyder describes Affleck’s character as “a crusty old Batman,” making it “cooler” to see him “beating the snot out of guys.” He argues that Batman’s age in pop culture (75 years) opened up this unique opportunity.

Why insert him into a movie so soon after The Dark Knight Rises? “It seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in,” Snyder says, though he admits that he was in no rush to put Batman into the movie.

We recently got our first look at Superman in Dawn of Justice, which was essentially the same look he had in Man of Steel. But, we also got our first look of him as Clark Kent as well.

In recent Batman v Superman news, Oscar Award winning actress Holly Hunter recently joined the cast in an unknown role, as well as a fairly unknown actor Ray Fisher who has been cast as Cyborg.

Snyder has continued to surprise fans, as he cast Jesse Eisenberg as the film’s villain Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Director Zack Snyder has jammed his movie with talented actors and new characters, so we’ll be curious to see what ends up being the focus of the film. Let us know what you think of the new Batsuit in the comments below.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s release date is set for May 6, 2016. Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill will return along with Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
