Marvel’s Ant-Man release date has moved up a few weeks, filling in the spot that the delayed Superman Vs Batman movie has left.

Director Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man film was set to hit theaters on July 31, 2015, but now it has been moved up to July 17. The date recently opened up when Superman Vs Batman was delayed by 10 months, pushing its release date into 2016.

This is actually the second release date adjustment for Ant-Man, which was initially set to be released in November of 2015 before moving to July 31. We can’t imagine the film will be moved again, but third time’s a charm right?

Ant-Man has been gaining steam as of late with Paul Rudd being cast as Ant-Man and Michael Douglas surprising everyone by joining the film as Hank Pym.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actor had just received a Golden Globe the night before it was announced that he would be taking on the role of Hank Pym.

Fans were curious why both actors would be playing what appeared to be the same role, but then it was revealed that Rudd will actually be playing Scott Lang. Scott was the second character to be Ant-Man after he broke into Dr. Hank Pym’s home and stole his Ant-Man uniform and shrinking gas canisters.

Ant-Man will now open on the same day as Warner Bros. Peter Pan origin film, Pan, which cast Garret Hedlund yesterday as its lead role of Hook. We look forward to the two films going to head to head in 2015.
