Angry Birds is officially joining the Netflix family.

In a press release sent out on Wednesday (March 25), Netflix announced that a brand new Angry Birds animated series is officially coming to the platform next year.

Titled Angry Birds: Summer Madness, the forthcoming series is being made in partnership with Netflix, CAKE, and Rovio Entertainment. Currently, 40 episodes, each 11 minutes in length, have been ordered.

Summer Madness will find viewers picking back up again with beloved characters Red, Bomb, and Chuck— this time as tweens attending summer camp. Here’s what you can expect from their upcoming summer adventure, per the animated series’ official logline:

Angry Birds: Summer Madness sees much-loved birds Red, Bomb and Chuck, as well as a cast of brand new feathered friends, as tween birds at summer camp under the questionable guidance of their counselor Mighty Eagle.

Explosive antics, improbable pranks and crazy summertime adventures see the birds pushing boundaries and breaking all the rules while fending off the brash and obnoxious Pigs on the other side of the lake, who seem hell-bent on causing as much mayhem as possible!

That Netflix is bringing Angry Birds home to nest shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise— especially given the franchise’s successful turnout at the box office over the years.

To date, the Birds have starred in two animated feature films. According to Box Office Mojo, the first in the franchise hit theaters in 2016 and raked in $352.3 million worldwide. Meanwhile, last year’s sequel pulled in $154.7 million worldwide. We’re sure the series will find similar success when it hits Netflix next year.

Angry Birds: Summer Madness is set to premiere worldwide via Netflix sometime in 20201.
