All Netflix original, scripted series and movies in the United States, and Canada, are stopping production amid COVID-19 concerns.
As many of the biggest studios delay movie releases and production, Netflix is joining the club. EW is reporting that the streaming service will take at least a two week break before resuming production on its original content. Presumably, they will reassess the situation in two weeks time to see if it’s safe for people to return to work. According to EW, Netflix is shutting down its production “due to government restrictions and health/safety precautions.”
Among the many Netflix projects currently in production are the highly anticipated Stranger Things season 4 and the fourth and final season of Glow. No word yet on if these production delays will affect any planned release dates, and it’s likely that we won’t know that for at least a few more weeks, depending on how things go.
