Spider-Man: Homecoming has been consistently adding huge stars to its cast and Nice Guys’ Angourie Rice is the latest addition.

With the announcement that Spider-Man would be showing up in Captain America: Civil War, many fans felt hesitant about yet another iteration of the iconic character — and for good reason. With the original Spider-Man films tinkering out on movie three and the Amazing Spider-Man franchise not making it past movie two, rebooting the character for the third time seemed like a terrible idea.

But it wasn’t. Turns out Sony and Marvel’s team-up was exactly what Spidey needed, and Tom Holland delivered on the laughs during his small stint in Civil War. After his debut in the film, another solo movie didn’t seem like such a bad idea. Couple that with the fact Homecoming won’t be another origin story, and dare I say it, the upcoming movie might just be the best incarnation of Spidey yet.

That’s wishful thinking, of course, but let’s not forget the cast alone is impressive, and as each new person is added, this movie more and more becomes something to look forward to.

It began with the addition of Robert Downey Jr., cementing the fact that Homecoming would still fit in with the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then came Michael Barbieri, Donald Glover (once a Spider-Man hopeful himself), Logan Marshall-Green, Martin Star, and comedian Hanibal Buress.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Angourie Rice will join the aforementioned stars in a role in Homecoming. And just like most of those other actors, Rice’s role has yet to be named.

There’s a lot of mystery surrounding this new Spider-Man movie, and for good reason. Sony and Marvel probably want to have all the details locked down before they start revealing who each actor will be portraying and which storylines they’ll be tackling. Considering previous box office flops, they won’t want to leave anything to chance.

Angourie Rice was previously seen in The Nice Guys, starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. Despite some issues we had with the movie, Rice’s character was a welcome addition to the film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and hits cinemas on July 7, 2017.
