Although we’re still early into American Horror Story season 3, the show’s creator Ryan Murphy has dished that he’s already asked Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett to return for season 4!

Just this week American Horror Story was officially picked up for season 4, and it looks like Murphy is well on his way to getting everything ready. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy teased that he’s already asked Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett if they would like to be involved with the next season. “I have approached them and they wanna do it,” he explains.

Although Coven has been Bates and Bassett’s first involvement with the series, they’ve fit right in with the rest of the American Horror Story cast. Murphy also explains why wants the two actresses to continue to be involved with the show, “That’s very exciting when you can work with A.) actresses you’ve always idolized and B.) those two are loving this season. They love what they get to do.”

Another interesting tidbit that Murphy divulged is that Bates sent a gift to the American Horror Story writers, “Kathy Bates sent the writers a basket of plush toys all in the shapes of disemboweled organs. It doesn’t get better than when an Oscar winner sends you a grab bag of stuffed pancreas to say ‘Thank you and job well done.’”

The only other cast member that Murphy has said will be involved in the next season is Jessica Lange, who hasn’t misses a season yet. However, the veteran actress says that American Horror Story season 4 will be her last.

Do you want Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett to return for ‘American Horror Story’ season 4?
