Sad news for American Horror Story fans, Jessica Lange has announced that she is planning on leaving the show after season 4.
Although America Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has said that he would like star Jessica Lange to be a part of every season, the actress has other plans. Speaking with Buzzfeed the American Horror Story veteran reveals that season 4 will be her last.
“I’ll do one more season…that’ll be it,” Lange explains while breaking fans hearts everywhere. While Lange does know the idea for American Horror Story season 4 she isn’t spilling any details on her last role for the horror mini series. But she did tease her enthusiasm, “I’m very excited.”
For now, Lange says she’s enjoying filming the current season of American Horror Story where she plays the supreme witch named Fiona. While she’s having a blast playing a character whose obsessed with immortality, Lange doesn’t know where Fiona is heading.
Revealing that Murphy has kept that bit from her, “You don’t have the whole blueprint in front of you from the beginning so you’re making your best judgment as you go along, but you never know for sure what’s going to happen.”
In the first season of American Horror Story subtitled Murder House Lange played Constance Langdon who had dark ties to the haunted mansion. While in the second season of American Horror Story subtitled Asylum she played a former alcoholic nun, Sister Jude with a thirst for power.
