American Gods season 2 has a lot of ground to cover, and the official trailer hints at the pit stops we’ll see along the way.

If you thought there were too many characters to keep track of in American Gods season 1, well, it’s time for a refresher course because plenty more are on the way. In the official trailer for Starz’s American Gods season 2, we see some familiar faces mixed in among some new ones. If you’re ready, “it’s time to ride.”

Wednesday continues his dominant presence over the trailer, narrating the CliffNotes version of the old gods’ “Coming to America” story. While he makes a plea for the preservation of the old gods and Shadow’s role in the bigger picture, not everyone is completely trusting of their leader. What will that mean for rallying the troops? At the very least, Mad Sweeney, Czernobog (and his hammer), and Mr. Nancy all make it to the table.

As we saw in the teasers from New York Comic Con, the House on the Rock meeting is going to be a focal point of the second season. There, the old gods, at least those who are willing to follow Wednesday’s call, assemble to discuss their dire situation. Namely, that although churches, cathedrals, monuments, and services have been built over centuries for their worship, the attention of the devout has shifted.

This leaves one god, Mama-Ji, who we first see in the trailer, as a waitress at the Motel America. The American Gods teaser trailer at NYCC (and the Starz PR team) prominently featured the diner as an important meeting place, not unlike Jack’s Crocodile Bar in season 1.

The trailer also offers another look at one of Media’s forms (a hologram), plenty of shots of origin stories including extended looks at Mad Sweeney’s lineage, Wednesday’s showmanship, and a peek “backstage.”

While the other teasers did a lot to get me amped for the meeting at the House on the Rock, this trailer made me more excited for the rest of the season, including, but not limited to, more “Coming to America” stories, Mad Sweeney and Laura Moon’s journey as workplace proximity associates, and, of course, Shadow Moon coming to grips with everything unfolding around him.

In this trailer he appears to be walking on more level ground, but as Mad Sweeney continuously cautions, there is always a cost to working with Wednesday.

American Gods season 2 premieres Sunday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Starz.
