Skye is forced into a horrible choice as war breaks out and everything changes on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 finale.
The two-hour finale, collectively titled “S.O.S.,” will break out the deftly-orchestrated war between the Inhumans and S.H.I.E.L.D. Sides will be chosen, shocking truths revealed, and consequences of the most arcane order will break like a wave over Coulson and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
There are also a few really good jokes.
The simmering mistrust between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans broke into a boil on last week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 – and just when things were looking up! In the aftermath of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Gonzales and Coulson decided to unite their branches of S.H.I.E.L.D., but were quickly forced on the offensive when a vision led Raina and Gordon to discover that The Thing on the Iliad was a Kree device created to destroy the Inhumans.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was terrified that the Inhumans could find them so easily, while the Inhumans were terrified that S.H.I.E.L.D. has The Thing. While Kara kidnapped Bobbi disguised as May, the two sides met to establish a peace. Jaiying turned Cal over to S.H.I.E.L.D. as a sign of good faith, but even Gonzales’s gentlest argument for Indexing the Inhumans triggered a deadly decision. Skye’s mother killed Gonzales with a Terrigen crystal and shot herself with his gun, declaring “This is war,” as she collapsed in front of her theater of Inhumans.
The immediate fallout of these events was teased in a clip from the “Double Agent” web series. Another sneak peek offers a look at the expectations arising between Skye and her inscrutable mother.
The second sneak peek from “S.O.S.” gives us a glimpse at what Ward and Kara want with Bobbi. And trust us – this is only the beginning.
