What better day is there than Friday the 13 to unveil the first seven minutes of the new season of Scream? None, honestly.

You also can’t kick off a new season of Scream without an iconic opening kill. All of these things are just made for one another. So check out the video below to get your first sneak peek:

The ‘live stream’ leading up to the seven minute premiere was actually a pre-planned horror skit designed to give fans an interactive experience. Viewers got to watch Ghostface take out a whole studio full of people. And after about a 20 minute wait, the opening of season 2 finally aired online.

First on the chopping block this year is Vine star Lele Pons. In an interesting twist though, the murder we’re expecting isn’t the one that actually takes place. That surprise turns in on itself as Audrey viciously wounds her attacker who turns out to be nothing more than a teenager pulling a prank.

A smart move for those of us who have become a little too comfortable with the predictability of the horror genre. If Scream plays this right, their “Trust Nothing,” campaign might actually catch on.
