We Are Men has been canceled by CBS, which is good news for fans of the Melissa McCarthy-led Mike and Molly.

Following an abysmal 5.4 million viewers for its premiere episode (a very low rating for a Monday night), CBS canceled We Are Men starring Tony Shalhoub, Jerry O’Connell and Kal Penn. The comedy followed the “single guys living in a short-term apartment complex who unexpectedly find camaraderie over their many missteps in love,” according to the series synopsis.

In light of the cancellation, CBS will be airing reruns of The Big Bang Theory on Mondays at 9 p.m. for the next two weeks. After that time the network will premiere Mike and Molly season 4 on November 4. The show had been previously slated to premiere mid-season, but the cancellation of We Are Men leaves a gaping hole in an important time slot.

In addition, CBS’ 2 Broke Girls season 3 will be moving to the now-vacated 8:30 p.m. from 9 p.m. The show will now benefit from the popularity of How I Met Your Mother season 9 at 8 p.m. instead of getting a poor lead in from We Are Men.

We Are Men is the second show to be canceled this season. ABC axed their lottery winner drama Lucky 7 last week, proving that putting “lucky” in a show’s title makes it anything but.

What show do you think will be next to face cancellation?

Hypable has started covering several new fall shows including Fox’s Sleepy Hollow and ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Many who have seen the Rupert Grint Super Clyde CBS comedy pilot are surely wishing right now that the network would bring the show back to life in replace of We Are Men, but unfortunately only one episode was shot so it won’t happen in the near future, if ever.
