There’s a new Doctor in town and she’s got a whole new style.

Whenever Doctor Who announces the departure of the current Doctor there’s always two major things people speculate: Who will they cast, and what will they wear?!

After BBC announced the casting of Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor on Doctor Who, the world has been abuzz with excitement, and now we get to see her first outfit!

After years of having a serious Doctor with angry eyebrows and a knack for darker clothes, it looks like Doctor Who is going back to its whimsical side. Suspenders and high-waist pants are a great choice for the new Doctor, and we can’t wait to see Jodie running with that classic long trench coat!

Could the colors and playfulness of the outfit hint at less serious moments and a more whimsical outtake on life, like Eleven? We certainly hope so! It’s about time this show lightened up a bit, don’t you think?

With a whole new showrunner, Chris Chibnall, taking control, we don’t know what to expect. That said, it’s definitely looking like a clean slate for the 50+ year old show.

Doctor Who will introduce Whittaker at the end of the 2018 Christmas Special, where Capaldi’s Doctor is slated to regenerate after an adventure with the first Doctor, played by David Bradley. The Christmas Special will be the last episode in the Moffat era, with Chibnall’s set to start in 2018.

We got our first Christmas Special trailer at Comic-Con, so check out our coverage and see what trouble the 12th Doctor will be getting in before Whittaker takes on the title.

‘Doctor Who’ returns for season 11 in 2018

What do you think of the Doctor’s new outfit?! Do you like the whimsy, or were you hoping for that dark, broody style we saw in Whittaker’s introduction video?
