The Top 8 performed for America’s votes and 50 Cent debuted a new song on The Voice Monday.
Adam Levine and 50 Cent kicked off the night of live performances with the new single “My Life.” The track, which also features Eminem, debuted Monday and its music video premieres on MTV Tuesday morning.
Breaking up the night’s individual performances were group acts. Cassadee, Melanie, Dez and Terry sang the All-American Rejects’ “Move Along” while Trevin, Amanda, Cody and Nicholas took on Journey’s “Any Way You Want It.”
Top 8 Performances
Amanda Brown

Team Adam’s Amanda Brown took the stage with a rocked out version of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” Livening up a beautiful song that is overplayed and far too common in singing competitions, the former background singer continued to show off her vocal prowess and artistic skill making the song her own.
Cody Belew

After showing off his entertainment value last week with Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love,” Cody Belew mixed theatrics with impressive vocals by taking on Queen’s iconic “Somebody To Love.” Singing atop a piano, the Arkansas native impressed as a choir backed him up.
Terry McDermott

The Scottish rocker sang his first non-classic rock song this week, performing Blake Shelton’s “Over.” Terry made his coach proud and showed the crowd that he’s more than just the predictable classic rock guy.
Melanie Martinez

Working off emotion from a recent break-up, Melanie Martinez “melanie-ized” Alex Clare’s “Too Close” bringing back the foot tambourine. As always, she took a recent track and made it her own, made it cool and made us truly listen to the lyrics.
Dez Duron

As the final artist on Christina Aguilera’s team, Dez switched it up again, this time with “U Smile” by Justin Bieber. The Yale football player turned smooth crooner seemed to struggle with breath control but rocked the crowd with his cool take on a Bieber song.
Trevin Hunte

After showing off his sexy last week, Trevin returned to ballads this week with Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love Of All.” We have to agree with Adam that heaven must inclue Trevin serenading us whilst donning a sparkly suit.
Nicholas David

With mentoring from Bill Withers, Nicholas sang Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” from behind a keyboard. Can the Minnesota soulman do wrong?
Cassadee Pope

After reaching No. 1 on iTunes with “Over You” last week, Cassadee Pope took on a song she said she could see herself releasing as a solo artist, in Michelle Branch’s “Are You Happy Now.”
The two artists with the lowest number of votes will be sent home on Tuesday’s results show, possibly eliminating one coach from the competition for the first time in the show’s history. Vote on Facebook, NBC.com, by purchasing a contestant’s song on iTunes (if an artist’s song is in the top 10 on iTunes, his or her votes will be multiplied by 10) or by phone or text (Sprint users only) until 10 a.m. ET Tuesday to choose the six artists to continue on to next week.
Who should move on to the Top 6 next week? What did you think of 50 Cent’s “My Life”?
