The Legend of Korra season 2 will come to TV screens in Canada! And a new photo from Book 2 gives a glimpse at what’s to come.
The hotly-anticipated debut of The Legend of Korra season 2 has received a time frame from Canadian television network YTV. According to a recent press release, new episodes of The Legend of Korra will be a part of YTV’s kid’s programming lineup for Fall 2013.
The announcement mentions the show only once and is non-specific as to exactly when in the fall the show will air. Still, it is interesting that YTV has grounded the premiere of The Legend of Korra season 2 in a specific time-frame – something that Korra‘s home network of the American-based Nickelodeon has yet to do.
It is still unclear what this announcement means for the American release of The Legend of Korra season 2. The show’s first season (called “Book 1: Air”) debuted in Canada on June 9, 2012, only a few weeks before the American run of the first season concluded. If Nickelodeon and YTV follow a similar pattern this year, The Legend of Korra could theoretically debut on Nickelodeon quite soon. This is merely speculative however, and it still seems wisest to wait for the upcoming panel at San Diego Comic Con for what will hopefully be definitive news on the subject of The Legend of Korra season 2.
On the same topic, co-creator Bryan Konietzko recently posted a new screenshot from The Legend of Korra season 2 on his Tumblr.
The image features all three of Katara and Aang’s grown children – Kya, Bumi, and Tenzin – having what looks like a distinct “WTF” moment. This is our first glimpse at Kya in action, as well as our first clear look at Tenzin and Bumi in The Legend of Korra season 2, so it’s quite exciting to see the three (apparently very different) siblings together. “We are very eager to share Book 2 with you,” Konietzko commented. “It is coming.”
