Supernatural season 9, episode 6 “Heaven Can’t Wait” airs tonight, as the Winchesters split up for two different missions.
The Road So Far
Dean formed an unlikely alliance with Ezekiel, an angel who was wounded in the fall, to save a dying Sam. Ezekiel possessed Sam to heal him from within, while also healing himself. But while Ezekiel’s presence remains a secret, Sam is becoming increasingly less convinced by Dean’s cover stories about Ezekiel-related occurrences.
On the demonic front, the Winchesters took Crowley captive in the hope of getting the names of all the demons and their vessels on Earth. His lack of cooperation has left him alone in the Men of Letters dungeon. Meanwhile, Abaddon started building an army to take over Hell for herself.
Castiel, on the other hand, is angelic enemy number one after the fall. After the Winchesters saved Cas from a Reaper, Ezekiel gave Dean an ultimatum: Cas leaves the bunker or Ezekiel leaves Sam, thus condemning him to death. As a result, Dean kicked Cas out.

If that promo has whet your appetite, make sure to read the official synopsis for the sixth episode of season 9:
CASTIEL GETS A JOB — Castiel (Misha Collins) gets a job at a Gas-N-Sip and actually starts to enjoy life as a human. A headline in the local newspaper about some disappearances in the area catches his eye, so he calls Dean (Jensen Ackles) to help him investigate the case. Dean knows he needs to keep Sam/Ezekiel (Jared Padaleck) away from Castiel, so he tells Sam that he and Kevin (guest star Osric Chau) need to stay and work with Crowley to decipher the tablet. Crowley agrees to help Sam and Kevin but in return he wants one phone call to hell. Rob Spera directed the episode written by Robert Berens (907).
