It’s starting to look like 2016 might be the year to “spice up your life.”
This week there were more rumblings that the Spice Girls would be returning to the touring stage in 2016 — but this time from the Girls themselves.
First, The Sun reported that it’s a done-deal: the Spice Girls will be touring for a 20th anniversary reunion in 2016. Fans will recognize 2016 as the 20th anniversary of their first single “Wannabe” dropping back in 1996. But there’s bad news for fans of the original five-some. The Sun is also reporting that while the group will be reuniting in 2016, it will be without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, who says she is too busy with her family and fashion career.
If that weren’t enough to add fuel to the fire, the Spice Girls themselves made a couple of interesting comments that essentially made all of us 20 and 30-somethings itch with excitement about a new tour!
Appearing on the Today Show and The Tonight Show this week, America’s Got Talent judge Mel B added, “You know, when you say it’s our 20th anniversary coming up, it does make you think, ‘Oh, my Gosh! It really has been that long. Hopefully, you know, we’ll gather the troops around and we’ll get to do something to celebrate it next year.”
Melanie C and Emma Bunton, Sporty and Baby Spice respectively, also chimed in, posting cryptic tweets insinuating that they may be getting ready to dawn their former personalities again!
Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!! 😳

Rumors have swirled about another full Spice Girls reunion after all five pulled out an iconic performance in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
While we respect Victoria Beckham’s alleged opinion, we’re not sure a full tour would make sense without her. Come on, Victoria, say you’ll be there!
