Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con MTV unveiled a new Scream trailer. They also may have announced the show would be returning for a season 2.
That’s right everyone, Scream will be returning for a season 2! We think… Kind of.
Yesterday at Scream’s official Comic-Con panel the cast (Willa Fitzgerald, Connor Weil, Amadeus Serafini, John Karna and Bella Thorne) and executive producers (Jamie Paglia and Jill Blotevogel) gathered to talk about the show and give some teases about the upcoming season.
But here’s where things get complicated. After the event, MTV’s official Twitter account for Scream shared that the show would be returning for a second season.
“Exec producer @JaimePaglia just made an announcement at our #SDCC panel…THERE WILL BE A SEASON 2 OF #MTVSCREAM. HELL YES. — SCREAM (@MTVScream) July 11, 2015”
However, between then to the publishing of this article, that tweet has been removed and so have several other articles confirming the news.
Chances are Scream has been renewed, but the news wasn’t ready for public consumption quite yet.
As soon as we learn more information we’ll share it with you here at Hypable. Until then, make sure you check out the new Scream trailer that was unveiled below:
More concrete information coming from the panel revealed that Bella Thorne will be returning to the show. Although her character was visiously murdered in episode one, it was announced that she would return to the series, “via a mysterious flashback in an all-new episode of Scream airing Tuesday, August 25th.”
