The Pretty Little Liars cast and creators revealed some interesting tidbits about the final 10 episodes at the TCA press tour.
After seven seasons of non-stop twists and mysteries, fans are craving answers more than anything else on Pretty Little Liars. However, the TCA press tour reminded us that there’s still a lot of other fun and exciting things to look forward to in the final 10 episodes! Here are a few of the new things we learned about the #PLLEndGame.
There will be a musical number
Pretty Little Liars will join the many shows to feature a musical number in their run. There won’t be a full musical episode, but they revealed that they found a way to include one musical number before the finale!
Lucy Hale, who plays Aria, is already known for her musical prowess, as she released a country album titled “Road Between,” in 2014. The vocal abilities of the other stars aren’t as known, but it was said at the TCAs that “all of [our cast] have incredible hidden talents, and singing happens to be one of them, and I thought it was a shame that we didn’t utilize that.
The final episodes are about a board game created by A
We already know that A (or at least Charlotte) loves to play with their dolls, but in the final 10 episodes of Pretty Little Liars, A will find a new way to play with the Liars. The Liars will be forced to play a board game that A created. The showrunner, Marlene King, noted that “the stakes are incredibly high.”
The episodes in which the Liars were trapped in Charlotte’s dollhouse were some of the best of the series, so this is one of the reveals that we’re most excited about. A knows how to create a sick, twisted game better than anyone and they definitely know how to get to the Liars. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.
There will be some romantic surprises
King promised only one thing about the Pretty Little Liars romances at the TCAs. “I think the couples who are meant to be together will find their way back together,” she said. As for who’s “meant to be together,” we’ll have to wait and see! She also noted that there will be some “surprises” in the romance department, so there may be hope yet for shippers of Spaleb, Jaria and Paily!
Something will be revealed about the DiLaurentis family
Well…obviously. So many of the big questions on the show are centered around Alison and her extremely dysfunctional family. Thankfully, EP on the show, Oliver Goldstick, did reveal that he believes there is a “redemptive quality” to Alison’s story in the final episodes, so hopefully we get some answers that help us understand her, and her actions.
The show will jump ahead one year before the end
As is often done with the end of a series, the show will move forward in time a bit before it’s over. However, this jump will likely come before the last episode, since EP Jason Dougherty promised that they will return to the flash-forward of Alison in her classroom. They didn’t forget!
This may not be the end of ‘Pretty Little Liars’
King acknowledged that it’s likely that Pretty Little Liars will return in some way, at some point. “I feel like we’ll find a way to bring these characters and this world back together at some point in time. I don’t think it will be in two years, but at some point in time, I hope so.” Whether that’s in the form of a spinoff, a movie, or whatever else they could have in mind, we’re already excited about it.
