Warm up those vocals for a third round of Pitch Perfect. Universal has set Pitch Perfect 3 for July 21, 2017!
—
Update (July 28): Brittany Snow is returning for Pitch Perfect 3 as well, Variety reports. What’s still a mystery is how these girls, including Chloe, will be working together following their graduation in Pitch Perfect 2.
—
Original story (June 16): The Pitch Perfect threequel will arrive just over two years after the sequel which made its curtain call in May.
Universal also announced today that Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will return for Pitch Perfect 3, but they didn’t share who’ll helm the movie. No matter! The involvement of Kendrick and Wilson is of the utmost importance — they arguably carried both films in the series’ growing franchise.
Kendrick celebrated the news by posting this photo on Instagram Monday afternoon:
And Wilson had this to say on Twitter:
I know I spilt the beans a little while ago, but at least now it's OFFICIAL!! PITCH PERFECT 3, July 21, 2017!!! Sing 'ahhhhh' on 3 pitches x

The ladies are very happy! And rightfully so. Each of them made around $2 million for Pitch Perfect 2, so they’re going to make at least that (if not more) for Pitch Perfect 3.
Pitch Perfect co-star Elizabeth Banks helmed the sequel for Universal and received good reviews for her work, so there’s a decent chance she’ll be offered movie three.
However, she may be a bit too busy to direct it. Last week we told you Banks is in talks with Universal to direct the book to film adaptation of the YA hit Red Queen.
It’s no surprise that a third film is happening. The second movie made $170 million in theaters earlier this year, up from the $65 million the original made in 2012.
It’s been a great summer for Universal! Jurassic World is looking like it’s going to be one of the biggest films of the year, and their adaptation of Fifty Shades was a big success too. We can’t forget Furious 7’s huge success either.
