Trish Sie will helm Pitch Perfect 3, starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow.
Pitch Perfect 3 faced a major setback earlier this year when we found out that sequel director Elizabeth Banks would not return for the threequel.
But now, Banks herself has revealed the woman that will take her place: Trish Sie, whose previous experience directing music-and-dance teen dramas makes her a great fit.

Sie herself tweeted her enthusiastic reaction to the news:
Is there a word to express a thrill this big? I GET 2 DIRECT #PitchPerfect3! It's like Xmas, 4th of July & my bday all at once, only better!

Trish Sie has several short films to her name, along with the Step Up franchise film Step Up All In.
Elizabeth Banks, who previously cited ‘parental duties’ as her reason for stepping down as director, will still serve as producer, and reprise her role as the commentator Gail.
Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two Pitch Perfect films, is returning to pen the third movie in the series.
Pitch Perfect 3 is set for a December 22, 2017 release date. The movie was pushed back to give the studio time to find a new director, but it looks like things will be moving smoothly from here.
Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld and Alexis Knapp are all set to reprise their roles.
