I have seen and heard many different opinions about the new, and highly anticipated, Hunger Games movie. The conclusions that have been made about the movie have varied from could of had more work, to thinking it was really good. The thing is, a lot of the critics are the fans who really got into the series and have read the books. Now sure there were a few things that could have been changed, but overall I think it was a great movie and I’m going to tell you why.
1.) The first reason is that when I walked into that crowded theater opening weekend, I had myself prepared to know that books that go to the big screen don’t always match up perfectly. It was a movie. Nothing more. From that view point they did follow the basic story line, just left out a few details. I was absolutely okay with that because there are some people who just went to see the movie and have no idea about how good the books are. I thoroughly enjoyed it because I was looking at it as a movie.
2.) It was very understandable for the people who have not read the books. It didn’t go into details or make jokes that only those readers of the book would have understood. I took a friend who had really no clue what was going to happen and at the end they were asking questions about the next two books, having gotten all the important parts.
3.) The acting and directing were phenomenal, along with the costumes and sets. Come on at least admit that. Jennifer Lawrence took on the role of Katniss perfectly. I have to say I don’t think there was one wrong role cast. The way the capitol was designed it was absolutely awe striking, and I personally wanted to live there the moment I saw it. It was good to not have to imagine it, but to see how Suzanne Collins sees it. There are many more notable things to add to this category, but I won’t mention them.
So, overall, the movie was amazing in my opinion. I’m not saying you can’t have your opinion I would just like to share my thoughts and hope you agree.
