There are a lot of things harder than registering to vote. Trying to remember everyone who died on Game of Thrones is one of them.
Obama has proven time and time again that being president of the United States doesn’t mean you can’t stay on top of your pop culture. Remember that time he proved he was a Nerdfighter? Well now he’s back and awesomer than ever.
In a new video encouraging people to register to vote for the upcoming presidential election, President Barack Obama shows us the many, many activities that are harder than registering. Operation, for one. Stacking Cheerios is another. Plus there’s untangling headphones. We all know how impossible that is.
Then there’s naming all the characters on Game of Thrones who have died.
“All right, you got Ned, Robb, Khal Drogo,” he says, settling back into his couch, looking proud that he’s come this far.
“Jon,” he says, “but maybe that doesn’t really count.” (He’s got a point there.)
“Renly, Summer, Shaggydog. And then Hodor. That was…sad,” he laments, as the upbeat music turns somber. Just when we were starting to get over it! Thanks, Obama.
“Tywin,” he says as the video begins to roll its credits. “Oberyn, Ygritte, Renly. Joffrey, thank God.”
Such truth, such wisdom. In all seriousness, all those who can legally vote this year should double check that everything is in order ahead of the election. Regardless of who you’re voting for, it’s important you make your voice heard. Do it for Hodor!
Just earlier today, we shared a video in which John Oliver used the Brexit situation, where the United Kingdom voted to leave the EU, to encourage voters not to make the same mistakes when the presidential election rolls around later this year. “There are no fucking do-overs,” he emphasizes.
