At last night’s National Television Awards, several Merlin actors were in attendance as Colin Morgan won the Best Actor award, and you can see interviews and videos from the event here!
Merlin was nominated for two NTAs, and actors Bradley James, Rupert Young, Eoin Macken, Alexander Vlahos and Colin Morgan were all in attendance to represent the series. And although Merlin lost to Downton Abbey in the Best Drama category, Colin Morgan did walk away with the award for Best Actor. Check out his acceptance speech:
Colin Morgan also speaks about his win backstage, and reveals what he’s going to do with the award:
Although disappointed by the loss for the series, the other actors were quick to tweet out their support for the star:

An amazing night at the NTA’s. Shame Merlin didn’t win but they got it right with best actor. Colin is a legend and a worthy winner.

Don’t know if it was obvious by the way I kept hitting him, but was and still am, beaming with pride for NTA ‘Best Actor’ Colin Morgan

Speaking to Digital Spy following his win, Morgan confirms that, “I don’t think that’s going to happen,” although he won’t rule out the possibility completely, adding, “who knows – let’s see what happens when the future comes.”
Morgan also expresses interest in perhaps reuniting with fellow Merlin actors on future projects, saying, “I hope so. We’re definitely going to stay friends. We just made loads of friends on the show – that’s the important thing, I think.”
Colin Morgan is currently filming in Ireland for the new BBC drama series Quirke. Check out the first look image of his character Jimmy Minor.
