It’s that time of week again – a new Lego: The Lord of the Rings behind-the-scenes trailer has been released. This installment shows us fresh footage of Moria, Helm’s Deep and the Shire.
In this third developer diary (thanks again, IGN!) , named “Journeying Forward”, TT games talk about how they design the Lego models for characters and in-game props. There’s also a quick mention of the inventory system, and how new items provide different (and occasionally transferable) abilities for your characters. Also discussed is co-op play, where players can work together to navigate around obstacles and solve puzzles, unlocking new characters, items and quests as rewards.
As an aside, the ESRB rating of 10+ that previously only warned of cartoon violence now also promises “comic mischief”. We’re rubbing our hands with glee just thinking about it.
Lego: The Lord of the Rings will launch on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii and 3DS on October 30.
Which of Middle-Earth’s environments are you most excited about visiting in its Lego form? Will you be playing Lego: The Lord of the Rings on its release?
