We’re one step closer to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, as J.K. Rowling announces that the script is complete.
The epic love story of Jude Law and Johnny Depp — I mean, the probably also exciting tale of Newt Scamander and some hinkypunks — is on its way to No-Majs worldwide.
With the release date set for 2018, Fantastic Beasts 2 now has a completed script, once again penned by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling:

There’s no reason to assume she finished writing it recently, especially since production is scheduled to start in August of this year, but it’s still nice to have a little update.
Fantastic Beasts 2 will star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the hapless collector of magical creatures who found himself in the middle of an international Muggle-Wizard relations crisis when he visited New York City in the first movie.

The sequel is expected to dive deeper into the Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) crisis in Europe, introducing Newt’s brother Theseus (Callum Turner) and bringing in Zoë Kravitz’s Leta Lestrange for (presumably) more than just sitting in a picture frame.
Also returning are Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol as Queenie, Dan Fogler as Jacob and, curiously, Ezra Miller as Credence (his character was presumed to have died in the first movie).
