How to Get away With Murder wraps season 2 on Thursday, and we have a couple of crack theories on what will go down.
When we last left Annalise and the students, things were at an all-time low. Flaurel and Basher were off. Coliver was on, but Ollie had a big secret looming. Wes, Laurel, Michaela, and Asher had unresolved sexual tension. Frank and Bonnie were stuck musing over which of them is the bigger amoral, murdering pawn. Phillip was missing, and so was Caleb. The whole Wes mess was out in the open, and because of various combos of all of the above, Annalise had gone running home to momma.
Given the situation, we have a couple of theories about what’ll happen during the season 2 finale.
Phillip and Caleb are a team
We’ve been saying it for awhile. We don’t exactly trust the Hapstalls, any of them. Our crack theory is that Caleb and Catherine are actually in love with each other. Somehow they got Phillip to do their murdering dirty work for them by having Catherine pretend to be in love with Phillip. At the same time, Caleb managed to smooth things over in the legal area by manipulating a relationship with Michaela.
We’re thinking that some sort of massive murder/suicide is going down in the Hapstall mansion when Phillip finally realizes that he has been played.
Time to say good-bye
One thing that tends to be anyone’s nail in the coffin on any drama is their emergence as a voice of reason and/or the moral compass. In the last couple of weeks, Asher has morphed from the immature frat boy, to the mature and guilt-ridden adult who wants to take responsibility for his actions. Can we say death knell? I think we can.
We’re hoping that he at least gets to go out in some sort of hero’s blaze of glory saving Bonnie, Michaela, or his new best buddies Connor and Oliver.
Season 3 is going to be all about New York
Eve Rockwell is now living in New York. Wes has already contacted her once. There is no reason why he won’t do it again now that he knows his father, Wallace Mahoney, is living in New York City. This plotline practically writes itself. There’s going to be some sort of daddy and son long-lost reunion.
Just to spice it up a bit, our theory is that Eve actually has Wallace Mahoney as one of her clients.
Laurel cliffhanger
Laurel isn’t as upset about Frank being a self-confessed murderer as you would think. She’s more upset about the secret, and the fact that Frank was Annalie’s pawn more than the actual act of cold-blooded murder. Why does she have this reaction? El dinero inteligente está en su padre…sorry , we couldn’t resist. The smart money is on Laurel’s past, specifically the “very bad man” father that she has referred to.
When things get so bad, and so out of control, we are betting that Laurel is going to have no other choice but to call in the big guns, and that means her father. We’re pretty sure that Laurel’s father and his henchmen are going to make Annalise, Frank, and Bonnie look like a bunch of mall cops.
Did you catch that "Laurel's father" mention? Pay close attention, we're dropping breadcrumbs #HTGAWM
