Luna Lovegood actress Evanna Lynch started in the fandom just like you did. And like you, she’s super excited for the just-announced Harry Potter spin off movie series.
Upon hearing the news Thursday morning, Lynch took to her Twitter to begin her campaign to have a role in the series which will be based on the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book “authored” by Newt Scamander (a.k.a. Rowling):
Her first hints were subtle, just quoting what Rowling had to say
"I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the series, Luna Lovegood." #justsaying

Lucky for her, there’s a connection between Newt and Luna!
Then she made her motives more clear
Maybe "Fantastic Beasts" will turn into a long ting like HP did & I can play Luna as an old lady? @wbpictures #hopeful #fantasticbeasts

She even got emotional
Let's be honest & admit that life without magical world updates has been bloody bleak. I am SO HAPPY Jo has decided to rescue us!! SO HAPPY.

This feels like having gotten over an ex & then they resurface in ur life & ALL THE FEELINGS COME RIGHT BACK & YOU LOVE IT #FantasticBeasts

And then she went all in with direct pleas to Warner Bros. and Rowling
.@wbpictures @jk_rowling even if I'm too old to play Luna, can I go through 10 hours prosthetics to play a crumple-horned-snorkack. Please??

The Fantastic Beasts movie is currently in early days of production. We don’t expect the first film to be released until 2016 or 2017 at the earliest. As always, we’ll be keeping you updated.

Lynch is currently starring in Houdini The Play which is on a tour of England and the United Kingdom.
